Infrastructure is foundational to everything we do and, when it’s working perfectly, goes completely unmentioned. While Halifax has excellent infrastructure in some areas, this is hardly consistent. Many roads are in poor condition, our two bridges are swiftly aging, and we’re also in need of completely new public infrastructure to accommodate our quickly growing population.
I’d like to improve on this by assigning more funds towards maintenance and infrastructure projects, I’d also like to cooperate with residents, City officials, and other stakeholders such as businesses to determine what projects will make the biggest difference in people’s lives. Spending on good infrastructure is something generally agreed upon as a good idea, but all too often neglected. I plan to make it a high priority to keep our existing infrastructure in good repair and expand on it with new projects.
